Daily Schedule
Hello! My name is Shannon McElhaney. I am teaching 4th grade this year.
About Me: I was born and raised in San Diego. I am Peruvian-American. I love going to the beach, especially with my dog Angel. When I have free time I love to sing, play my guitar, and I also love to dance! I am also a kid at heart. I love going to Disneyland and watching Disney movies. Something I also love to do is travel. The last places I traveled to in 2019 were Puerto Rico, Portugal, Ireland, and Cuba. I love to learn about new cultures and meet new people!
Education
I went to University City High School and graduated in 2012. I lived in Hawaii for my first year of college, and immediately after went to study abroad in France for 6 months. Upon returning from France, I went to San Diego Mesa College, made my way to San Diego State University, and graduated with a degree in Liberal Studies in 2017. After this, I received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential through the San Francisco Unified School District's Pathway to Teaching program, where I also taught Kindergarten for my first year of teaching. In 2020 I earned my M.A in Education with a Focus in Counseling, as well as a certificate in Trauma Informed Care and Mental Health Recovery from San Diego State University.
