Silvia Oliveros has a strong connection with National City since it is the community she grew up in. She values the diverse cultures and languages that make up the community and advocates for a multicultural and multilingual learning environment.
Ms.Oliveros received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Education and a Bachelor of Spanish, cum laude, as well as a Multiple Subject Bilingual Teaching Credential and a Masters of Arts in Teaching in Reading and Language Arts from San Diego State University (SDSU). She recently obtained an Administrative Services Credential at SDSU and aspires to be a principal one day.
Ms.Oliveros was a classroom teacher at Integrity Charter School for five years and is currently serving as an English Language Development (ELD) Instructional Coach. Her goal is to ensure that all of our Multilingual Learners develop proficiency in English so they can achieve academic success. Mrs. Oliveros also seeks to leverage on students' individual strengths to enrich their learning experiences. Her own strengths include being analytical, academic, worldly, a creative thinker, and having patience.
In her free time, Ms. Oliveros enjoys spending time with her son, Sebastian, at Seaworld, the Zoo and parks. When she is not busy with Sebastian, she enjoys running, reading, and writing.
