Ms. Lindsay Herndon-Ortega

Seventh & Eighth Grade Academic Support Teacher - Math

Ms. Ortega is originally from New Mexico but moved to California to go to college and fell in love with it! She lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years where she worked in the actuarial science field and the biotechnology field before moving to San Diego 5 years ago. For the past 2 years, she has been attending graduate school at UCSD, earning a Master’s Degree in Education and a teaching credential in Secondary Mathematics. She absolutely loves teaching math and having the opportunity to provide a safe and welcoming classroom environment for students to explore their problem solving and critical thinking skills. She loves getting to interact with middle school students because they are at such a critical time in their lives where they are figuring out who they are, and are really starting to pursue their individual interests.

She will be supporting both the 7th and 8th grade math and science classes this year and is thrilled to get to work with the students and their families at ICS!

And if you see her riding her bicycle around National City, wave her down and say hi!
